The existing Cool Media opened its doors as Sunny Videos for the first time on the 20th December 1991. It started as a video rental shop in Baines Centre, Pionierspark, Windhoek in Namibia. Customer demand compelled it in time to widen its scope to include the provision of other take-home entertainment media and to broaden its customer base to the whole of Windhoek. A second outlet was thus opened during  August 1995 at Maerua Park in central Windhoek. The third stage of development was reached when it spread its wings across-border to South Africa by opening an outlet at Arcadia Park Galleries, Arcadia, Pretoria during  August 1998. Online ordering over the Internet was also activated on the same date.

Cool Media provides through its outlets a one-stop take-home entertainment service. It rents out videos, DVD's, games and sells videos, music, DVD's and other take-home entertainment.
